It's a component
You can use DesktopSqlCe in your own applications in order to access SQL Mobile or SQL CE 2.0 databases on mobile or embedded devices. By implementing a .NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Mobile and SQL CE 2.0 on the desktop, you can use the same classes as you would use on the device like SqlCeConnection, SqlCeCommand and SqlCeDataAdapter.

Trial period
Applications generated with DekstopSqlCe will work for 90 days before a license is required.
